Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A view of the Brouwersgracht, Haarlem by Cornelis Springer was sold in the Old Masters & 19th Century Art - including Dutch Impressionism auction at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2016. The price achieved of EUR 56,250.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelis Springer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A View Of The Westerstraat In Enkhuizen In Summer in October 2006 with an auction result of EUR 1,104,000.00.
