In September 2000 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction PICTURES WATERCOLOURS DRAWINGS AND COPIES AFTER OLD MASTERS, which included the work Rustende man by Cornelis Koppenol. The »bidding war« ended at NLG 2,574.44 (€ 1,186.57), 61% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cornelis Koppenol - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Happy family, which sold at auction in March 2000 for NLG 9,946.70 (€ 4,231.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 61 % übertroffen
Im September 2000 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion PICTURES WATERCOLOURS DRAWINGS AND COPIES AFTER OLD MASTERS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rustende man von Cornelis Koppenol zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von NLG 2.574,44 (€ 1.186,57) und damit 61% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Cornelis Koppenol mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Happy family beobachtet, die im März 2000 für NLG 9.946,70 (€ 4.231,56) versteigert wurde.
