Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Alter Ego (Teapot with reflection) by Cornelia Parker. It changed hands for a price of GBP 18,900.00 (€ 22,164.17) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cornelia Parker - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Alter Ego (Mutiny), which sold at auction in July 2015 for GBP 32,500.00 (€ 46,074.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Alter Ego (Teapot with reflection) von Cornelia Parker zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 18.900,00 (€ 22.164,17) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Cornelia Parker mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Alter Ego (Mutiny) beobachtet, die im Juli 2015 für GBP 32.500,00 (€ 46.074,08) versteigert wurde.
