In February last year Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art Online, which included the work Valley of Mexico, the two volcanoes Popocatépetl and Iztaccihuatl by Conrad Wise Chapman. The result of USD 35,000.00 (€ 31,183.18) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 35,000.00 – 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Conrad Wise Chapman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work City Of Mexico From The Hacienda De Los Morales in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 348,500.00 (€ 329,457.36).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Februar letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Valley of Mexico, the two volcanoes Popocatépetl and Iztaccihuatl von Conrad Wise Chapman zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 31.183,18) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 35.000,00 – 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Conrad Wise Chapman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit City Of Mexico From The Hacienda De Los Morales im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 348.500,00 (€ 329.457,36).
