In October 2019 Christies in London held the auction Topographical Pictures including Selections from the Kelton Collection, which included the work The Valley of Mexico by Conrad Wise Chapman. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,848.83), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Conrad Wise Chapman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work City Of Mexico From The Hacienda De Los Morales in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 348,500.00 (€ 329,457.36).

Im Oktober 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion Topographical Pictures including Selections from the Kelton Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Valley of Mexico von Conrad Wise Chapman zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 18.848,83) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Conrad Wise Chapman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit City Of Mexico From The Hacienda De Los Morales im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 348.500,00 (€ 329.457,36).
