This artwork by Colin Self achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2012. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Norwich Bowl sold for GBP 5,500.00 (€ 6,783.03) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Colin Self; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Study For A Diorama, Possibly Including Mickey Mouse sold at auction in November 2005 with the realized price of GBP 4,800.00 (€ 7,051.81).
