Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Study for the Gardens (Large Conical Garden Sculpture) by Colin Self was sold in the 20th Century British Art auction at Christies in London in July 2010. It changed hands for a price of GBP 750.00 (€ 901.79) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Admittedly, works by Colin Self have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Study For A Diorama, Possibly Including Mickey Mouse in November 2005 with an auction result of GBP 4,800.00 (€ 7,051.81).

Die Arbeit A Study for the Gardens (Large Conical Garden Sculpture) von Colin Self wurde im Juli 2010 in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 750,00 (€ 901,79) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Colin Self auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Study For A Diorama, Possibly Including Mickey Mouse im November 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.800,00 (€ 7.051,81).
