It achieved a price of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 21,272.12), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 56%. Admittedly, works by Colin Middleton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Allotments, Belfast in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 90,000.00 (€ 132,441.09).

Die Arbeit Evening Landscape With Boats von Colin Middleton wurde im September 2017 in der Auktion Irish Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 18.750,00 (€ 21.272,12) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 56%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Colin Middleton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Allotments, Belfast im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 90.000,00 (€ 132.441,09).
