The auction ended at the price of EUR 35,000.00, which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of EUR 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claude Joseph Vernet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A View Of Avignon, From The Right Bank Of The Rhône Near Villeneuve in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 5,346,500.00 (€ 6,109,308.12).

Die Arbeit Washerwomen Near By A Lake von Claude Joseph Vernet wurde im Juni 2017 in der Auktion Tableaux, Sculptures et Dessins Anciens et du XIXe siècle bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 35.000,00 entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Claude Joseph Vernet erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A View Of Avignon, From The Right Bank Of The Rhône Near Villeneuve im Juli 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.346.500,00 (€ 6.109.308,12).
