Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pilgrims In An Italian Landscape by Claude Joseph Vernet was sold in the Paris-Rome : une Alliance Artistique auction at Sothebys in Paris in September 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 50,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 56,250.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claude Joseph Vernet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A View Of Avignon, From The Right Bank Of The Rhône Near Villeneuve in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 5,346,500.00 (€ 6,109,308.12).

Die Arbeit Pilgrims In An Italian Landscape von Claude Joseph Vernet wurde im September 2017 in der Auktion Paris-Rome : une Alliance Artistique bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 50.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 56.250,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
