Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters Evening Sale, which included the work Le Soir: A Mediterranean Harbour At Sunset With Fisherfolk And Merchants On A Quay Clair De Lune: A Mediterranean Harbour By Moonlight With Fisherfolk By A Fire On The Shore, A Natural Arch Beyond by Claude Joseph Vernet. The price achieved of GBP 1,448,750.00 (€ 1,616,582.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200,000.00 – 1,800,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Claude Joseph Vernet - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A View Of Avignon, From The Right Bank Of The Rhône Near Villeneuve, which sold at auction in July 2013 for GBP 5,346,500.00 (€ 6,109,308.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Le Soir: A Mediterranean Harbour At Sunset With Fisherfolk And Merchants On A Quay Clair De Lune: A Mediterranean Harbour By Moonlight With Fisherfolk By A Fire On The Shore, A Natural Arch Beyond von Claude Joseph Vernet zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.448.750,00 (€ 1.616.582,53) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.200.000,00 – 1.800.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Claude Joseph Vernet mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A View Of Avignon, From The Right Bank Of The Rhône Near Villeneuve beobachtet, die im Juli 2013 für GBP 5.346.500,00 (€ 6.109.308,12) versteigert wurde.
