In the Old Master, 19th Century & British Drawings & Watercolours auction, the work Porta Nigra, Trier, Germany sold for GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,479.99) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Clarkson Stanfield achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Castle Cornet, Guernsey in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 35,850.00 (€ 53,788.20).
