Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2021 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours including a Fine Collection of Old Master Prints, which included the work A capriccio scene, Venice by Clarkson Stanfield. It changed hands for a price of GBP 4,625.00 (€ 5,423.77) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Clarkson Stanfield have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Castle Cornet, Guernsey in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 35,850.00 (€ 53,788.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2021 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours including a Fine Collection of Old Master Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit A capriccio scene, Venice von Clarkson Stanfield zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 4.625,00 (€ 5.423,77) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Clarkson Stanfield auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Castle Cornet, Guernsey im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.850,00 (€ 53.788,20).
