Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian Figures On A Bayside Path by Clarice Beckett was sold in the Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 22,000.00 – 32,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 24,000.00 (€ 14,351.44) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Clarice Beckett have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Evening, (Beach Road, Beaumaris) in November last year with an auction result of AUD 172,200.00 (€ 112,047.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Australian Figures On A Bayside Path von Clarice Beckett wurde im August 2007 in der Auktion Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 22.000,00 – 32.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 24.000,00 (€ 14.351,44) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Clarice Beckett auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Evening, (Beach Road, Beaumaris) im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 172.200,00 (€ 112.047,60).
