Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Bonhams in Sidney held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Figure and Bathing Boxes, c.1932 by Clarice Beckett. The price achieved of AUD 49,200.00 (€ 45,848.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Clarice Beckett - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Evening, (Beach Road, Beaumaris), which sold at auction in November last year for AUD 172,200.00 (€ 112,047.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Sidney die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Figure and Bathing Boxes, c.1932 von Clarice Beckett zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 49.200,00 (€ 45.848,48) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Clarice Beckett mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Evening, (Beach Road, Beaumaris) beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für AUD 172.200,00 (€ 112.047,60) versteigert wurde.
