Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Australian Beaumaris by Clarice Beckett was sold in the Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2007. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 80,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 84,000.00 (€ 50,230.04). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Clarice Beckett - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Evening, (Beach Road, Beaumaris), which sold at auction in November last year for AUD 172,200.00 (€ 112,047.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Australian Beaumaris von Clarice Beckett wurde im August 2007 in der Auktion Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 80.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 84.000,00 (€ 50.230,04) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Clarice Beckett mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Evening, (Beach Road, Beaumaris) beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für AUD 172.200,00 (€ 112.047,60) versteigert wurde.
