In July 2020 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern Art Day Sale, which included the work Untitled A & B by Chu Weibor. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 60,000.00 (€ 6,573.81), 50% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chu Weibor achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Eminence in May 2019 with an auction result of HKD 812,500.00 (€ 92,990.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2020 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled A & B von Chu Weibor zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 60.000,00 (€ 6.573,81) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chu Weibor erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Eminence im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 812.500,00 (€ 92.990,40).
