Artwork auctioned at eight times the upper estimate price
When the work Dissection by Chu Weibor was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2019, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 20,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than eight times as high at HKD 175,000.00 (€ 19,920.10). Admittedly, works by Chu Weibor have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Eminence in May 2019 with an auction result of HKD 812,500.00 (€ 92,990.40).
Kunstwerk zum Achtfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Dissection von Chu Weibor im April 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 20.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 175.000,00 (€ 19.920,10) mehr als achtmal so hoch. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chu Weibor auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Eminence im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 812.500,00 (€ 92.990,40).
