Auction result well in line with expectations
In June last year Sothebys in London held the auction Modern British Day Auction, which included the work White Yacht off the Breton Coast by Christopher Wood. The price achieved of GBP 151,200.00 (€ 175,651.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Christopher Wood - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Drying Sails, Mousehole, Cornwall, which sold at auction in June last year for GBP 479,100.00 (€ 556,577.92).
