Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern British Art, which included the work Nude by Christopher Wood. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 44,100.00 (€ 51,777.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christopher Wood achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Drying Sails, Mousehole, Cornwall in June last year with an auction result of GBP 479,100.00 (€ 556,577.92).
