The work Girls by the Sea by Christopher Wood was sold in the Modern & Post War British Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in June 2021. It achieved a price of GBP 88,200.00 (€ 102,775.93), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 47%. Admittedly, works by Christopher Wood have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Drying Sails, Mousehole, Cornwall in June last year with an auction result of GBP 479,100.00 (€ 556,577.92).

Die Arbeit Girls by the Sea von Christopher Wood wurde im Juni 2021 in der Auktion Modern & Post War British Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 88.200,00 (€ 102.775,93) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 47%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Christopher Wood auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Drying Sails, Mousehole, Cornwall im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 479.100,00 (€ 556.577,92).
