Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Coco loco by Christopher Makos was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 2,250.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christopher Makos achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Andy Warhol (Altered Image) in March 2015 with an auction result of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 24,194.67).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Coco loco von Christopher Makos im September 2011 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 2.250,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Christopher Makos erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Andy Warhol (Altered Image) im März 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 24.194,67).
