Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Christopher Le Brun could be acquired at Sothebys in London in September 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Made in Britain auction, the work Study For Fafner changed hands for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,501.09) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christopher Le Brun achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Union (Horse with Two Discs) in June this year with an auction result of GBP 163,800.00 (€ 190,635.00).
