In April last year Phillips in London held the auction New Now, which included the work Xanthus by Christopher Le Brun. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 23,940.00 (€ 28,547.60), 33% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Christopher Le Brun have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Union (Horse with Two Discs) in June this year with an auction result of GBP 163,800.00 (€ 190,635.00).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Xanthus von Christopher Le Brun zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 23.940,00 (€ 28.547,60) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Christopher Le Brun auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Union (Horse with Two Discs) im Juni diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 163.800,00 (€ 190.635,00).
