Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lazing on a Sunny Afternoon by Christina Quarles was sold in the Prints and Multiples auction at Bonhams in December last year. The price achieved of GBP 3,187.50 (€ 3,598.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christina Quarles achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Night Fell Upon Us Up On Us in May last year with an auction result of USD 4,527,000.00 (€ 4,218,618.95).
