Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Red Silence (The Electric Chair) by Christian Marclay was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in April last year. It changed hands for a price of EUR 47,880.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christian Marclay achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Boneyard in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 550,000.00 (€ 493,938.03).
