Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Christian Marclay achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Paris in April last year. In the Collection Loïc Malle: Only Time Will Tell auction, the work Actions : Plish Plip Plap Plop (No. 3) sold for EUR 69,300.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 34,000.00. Admittedly, works by Christian Marclay have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Boneyard in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 550,000.00 (€ 493,938.03).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Christian Marclay erzielte im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Collection Loïc Malle: Only Time Will Tell wurde die Arbeit Actions : Plish Plip Plap Plop (No. 3) für EUR 69.300,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 34.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Christian Marclay auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Boneyard im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 550.000,00 (€ 493.938,03).
