Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Chris Smith achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in April 2018. In the Photographs auction, the work Float Like A Butterfly, Sting Like A Bee sold for USD 15,000.00 (€ 12,423.39) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chris Smith - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ali And The Beatles, 1964, which sold at auction in September 2018 for GBP 43,750.00 (€ 49,136.87).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Chris Smith erzielte im April 2018 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs wurde die Arbeit Float Like A Butterfly, Sting Like A Bee für USD 15.000,00 (€ 12.423,39) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Chris Smith mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ali And The Beatles, 1964 beobachtet, die im September 2018 für GBP 43.750,00 (€ 49.136,87) versteigert wurde.
