Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Unknown by Chokosai Eisho was sold in the Japanese and Korean Art auction at Christies in New York in March 2000. Here, the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 6,325.00 (€ 6,606.43). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chokosai Eisho - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Twelve prints from the erotic set entitled Fumi no kiyogaki (Freshly issued love letters), unsigned--good impressions, color faded, centerfolds, creased, some stained, which sold at auction in March 2001 for USD 12,925.00 (€ 14,697.52).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Unknown von Chokosai Eisho wurde im März 2000 in der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 6.325,00 (€ 6.606,43) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Chokosai Eisho mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Twelve prints from the erotic set entitled Fumi no kiyogaki (Freshly issued love letters), unsigned--good impressions, color faded, centerfolds, creased, some stained beobachtet, die im März 2001 für USD 12.925,00 (€ 14.697,52) versteigert wurde.
