Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unknown by Chokosai Eisho was sold in the Japanese Art and Design auction at Christies in London in July 2005. The price achieved of GBP 1,320.00 (€ 1,914.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Chokosai Eisho have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Twelve prints from the erotic set entitled Fumi no kiyogaki (Freshly issued love letters), unsigned--good impressions, color faded, centerfolds, creased, some stained in March 2001 with an auction result of USD 12,925.00 (€ 14,697.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Unknown von Chokosai Eisho wurde im Juli 2005 in der Auktion Japanese Art and Design bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.320,00 (€ 1.914,65) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.200,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chokosai Eisho auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Twelve prints from the erotic set entitled Fumi no kiyogaki (Freshly issued love letters), unsigned--good impressions, color faded, centerfolds, creased, some stained im März 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.925,00 (€ 14.697,52).
