This artwork by Choi So-Young achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in December 2008. In the Asian Contemporary Sale (Day Sale) auction, the work Seascape of Busan sold for HKD 600,000.00 (€ 55,607.44) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 300,000.00. Admittedly, works by Choi So-Young have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Snow Covered Landscape in May 2016 with an auction result of HKD 1,960,000.00 (€ 226,539.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 100 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Choi So-Young erzielte im Dezember 2008 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian Contemporary Sale (Day Sale) wurde die Arbeit Seascape of Busan für HKD 600.000,00 (€ 55.607,44) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 300.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Choi So-Young auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Snow Covered Landscape im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.960.000,00 (€ 226.539,74).
