This artwork by Choi So-Young achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2011. In the Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) auction, the work After the Snow 2 sold for HKD 1,280,000.00 (€ 114,501.95) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 500,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Choi So-Young; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Snow Covered Landscape sold at auction in May 2016 with the realized price of HKD 1,960,000.00 (€ 226,539.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Choi So-Young erzielte im Mai 2011 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) wurde die Arbeit After the Snow 2 für HKD 1.280.000,00 (€ 114.501,95) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 500.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Choi So-Young; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Snow Covered Landscape im Mai 2016 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 1.960.000,00 (€ 226.539,74).
