Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Indian Art, which included the work Smart Alec by Chintan Upadhyay. It changed hands for a price of GBP 29,300.00 (€ 37,270.88) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chintan Upadhyay - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Together For Life Whether We Like It Or Not, which sold at auction in October 2008 for HKD 1,100,000.00 (€ 111,890.87).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Indian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Smart Alec von Chintan Upadhyay zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 29.300,00 (€ 37.270,88) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Chintan Upadhyay mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Together For Life Whether We Like It Or Not beobachtet, die im Oktober 2008 für HKD 1.100.000,00 (€ 111.890,87) versteigert wurde.
