Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Smart Alec by Chintan Upadhyay was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2008. It achieved a price of USD 73,000.00 (€ 46,915.17), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 22%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chintan Upadhyay - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Together For Life Whether We Like It Or Not, which sold at auction in October 2008 for HKD 1,100,000.00 (€ 111,890.87).
