This artwork by Chen Zhifo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in July 2020. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Perching By The Camellia Blossoms sold for HKD 712,500.00 (€ 78,063.95) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 400,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chen Zhifo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Eagle on White Prunus, which sold at auction in May 2013 for HKD 1,950,000.00 (€ 193,378.50).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 78 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Chen Zhifo erzielte im Juli 2020 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Perching By The Camellia Blossoms für HKD 712.500,00 (€ 78.063,95) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 400.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Chen Zhifo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Eagle on White Prunus beobachtet, die im Mai 2013 für HKD 1.950.000,00 (€ 193.378,50) versteigert wurde.
