Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Indian Flycatcher and Plum Blossoms by Chen Zhifo was worth AUD 98,400.00 (€ 80,457.89) to a buyer in December 2020. This price was achieved in the auction Chinese Paintings at Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of AUD 30,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chen Zhifo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Eagle on White Prunus, which sold at auction in May 2013 for HKD 1,950,000.00 (€ 193,378.50).

Die Arbeit Indian Flycatcher and Plum Blossoms von Chen Zhifo war einem Käufer im Dezember 2020 AUD 98.400,00 (€ 80.457,89) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Chinese Paintings bei Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von AUD 30.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Chen Zhifo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Eagle on White Prunus beobachtet, die im Mai 2013 für HKD 1.950.000,00 (€ 193.378,50) versteigert wurde.
