A top price for Chen Zhifo
When the work Eagle on White Prunus by Chen Zhifo was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2013, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 90,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than 21 times as high at HKD 1,950,000.00 (€ 193,378.50). This high result makes Eagle on White Prunus the most expensive artwork by Chen Zhifo that we have observed at auctions so far.

Als die Arbeit Eagle on White Prunus von Chen Zhifo im Mai 2013 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 90.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 1.950.000,00 (€ 193.378,50) mehr als 21-mal so hoch.
