In October 2018 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Paintings, which included the work Bamboo And Birds by Chen Zhifo. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 437,500.00 (€ 49,263.15), 46% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chen Zhifo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Eagle on White Prunus, which sold at auction in May 2013 for HKD 1,950,000.00 (€ 193,378.50).

Im Oktober 2018 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bamboo And Birds von Chen Zhifo zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 437.500,00 (€ 49.263,15) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Chen Zhifo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Eagle on White Prunus beobachtet, die im Mai 2013 für HKD 1.950.000,00 (€ 193.378,50) versteigert wurde.
