This price was achieved in the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Cal at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 6,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Chen Yixi; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Calligraphy in Three Styles sold at auction in November 2012 with the realized price of HKD 524,000.00 (€ 51,956.96).
