It achieved a price of HKD 462,500.00 (€ 39,790.92), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 54%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chen Shuzhong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Wild Grassland Series No.26 (Diptych), which sold at auction in June 2014 for CNY 849,600.00 (€ 100,040.56).

Die Arbeit Scene from the Three Gorges Dam von Chen Shuzhong kam im November 2009 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 462.500,00 (€ 39.790,92) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 54%. Für andere Arbeiten von Chen Shuzhong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Wild Grassland Series No.26 (Diptych) beobachtet, die im Juni 2014 für CNY 849.600,00 (€ 100.040,56) versteigert wurde.
