Auction result well in line with expectations
In December this year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings, which included the work Willow and Orioles by Chen Shuren. The price achieved of HKD 37,800.00 (€ 4,373.89) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Shuren achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Snowscape in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 1,480,000.00 (€ 152,370.31).
