A top price for Chen Shuren
The work Snowscape by Chen Shuren was worth HKD 1,480,000.00 (€ 152,370.31) to a buyer in October 2014. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Paintings at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 350,000.00 many times over. This high result makes Snowscape the most expensive artwork by Chen Shuren that we have observed at auctions so far.
