Auction result well in line with expectations
In August this year Bonhams in Sydney held the auction Asian Art including Paintings from the Wong Family Collection, which included the work Bird and flower by Chen Shuren. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 1,230.00 (€ 733.98) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Shuren achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Snowscape in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 1,480,000.00 (€ 152,370.31).
