Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Narcissus and Calligraphy by Chen Chun was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in December this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 8,000,000.00 – 12,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 8,820,000.00 (€ 1,020,574.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chen Chun - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Flowers and Calligraphy, which sold at auction in June this year for HKD 28,810,000.00 (€ 3,366,443.22).
