Sold at the upper estimate price
In May 2021 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Cursive Script Calligraphy by Chen Chun. The auction ended at the price of HKD 500,000.00 (€ 52,853.86), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Chun achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flowers and Calligraphy in June this year with an auction result of HKD 28,810,000.00 (€ 3,366,443.22).
