Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2015 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale), which included the work Waterfall by Chen Chong Swee. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 62,500.00 (€ 7,333.55). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chen Chong Swee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nanyang Landscape, which sold at auction in November 2015 for HKD 212,500.00 (€ 25,953.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2015 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Waterfall von Chen Chong Swee zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 60.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 62.500,00 (€ 7.333,55) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Chen Chong Swee mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nanyang Landscape beobachtet, die im November 2015 für HKD 212.500,00 (€ 25.953,89) versteigert wurde.
