Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Kampung Woman) by Chen Chong Swee was sold in the Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art auction at Bonhams in Hong Kong in October 2020. The price achieved of HKD 88,125.00 (€ 9,760.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chen Chong Swee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nanyang Landscape, which sold at auction in November 2015 for HKD 212,500.00 (€ 25,953.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Kampung Woman) von Chen Chong Swee wurde im Oktober 2020 in der Auktion Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art bei Bonhams in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 88.125,00 (€ 9.760,56) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 70.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Chen Chong Swee mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nanyang Landscape beobachtet, die im November 2015 für HKD 212.500,00 (€ 25.953,89) versteigert wurde.
