Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tree Of A Thousand Years by Chen Chong Swee was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2012. The price achieved of HKD 50,000.00 (€ 4,977.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Chen Chong Swee have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nanyang Landscape in November 2015 with an auction result of HKD 212,500.00 (€ 25,953.89).

Die Arbeit Tree Of A Thousand Years von Chen Chong Swee wurde im Oktober 2012 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 50.000,00 (€ 4.977,62) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 30.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chen Chong Swee auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Nanyang Landscape im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 212.500,00 (€ 25.953,89).
