This artwork by Chen Chong Swee achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2013. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings auction, the work Mending Fishing Nets sold for HKD 150,000.00 (€ 14,683.32) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 70,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Chen Chong Swee; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Nanyang Landscape sold at auction in November 2015 with the realized price of HKD 212,500.00 (€ 25,953.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Chen Chong Swee erzielte im April 2013 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings wurde die Arbeit Mending Fishing Nets für HKD 150.000,00 (€ 14.683,32) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 70.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Chen Chong Swee; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Nanyang Landscape im November 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 212.500,00 (€ 25.953,89).
