CHAU HANG (B. 1962) Autumn Colours Scroll, mounted and framed, ink and colour on paper 69.2 x 33.5 cm. (27 1 ⁄ 4 x 13 1 ⁄ 4 in.) Signed, with three seals of the artist NOTE: Chau Hang, the grandson of Zhao Shao’ang (1905-1998), has accumulated many awards in calligraphy and painting competitions throughout Hong Kong and China. He is currently the Honorary President of the Lingnan Branch of the Chinese Academy of Chinese Painting and the Chairman of the Hong Kong Lingnan Art Association.

The work Autumn Colours by Chau Hang was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in February this year. It achieved a price of HKD 35,280.00 (€ 4,239.46), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 41%. Other works by Chau Hang have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of HKD 35,280.00 (€ 4,590.76) in September last year for the work Cicada.

Die Arbeit Autumn Colours von Chau Hang kam im Februar diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 35.280,00 (€ 4.239,46) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 41%. Andere Arbeiten von Chau Hang haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von HKD 35.280,00 (€ 4.590,76) im September letzten Jahres für die Arbeit Cicada beobachtet.
